Bathrobes for Women is a single piece of clothing, worn immediately after a bath, sauna or a swim. Bathrobes are usually made of terrycloth and are thick and soft to keep the body warm after stepping out of the water. A wide array of women’s bathrobes in various materials, styles and cuts are easily available.

Bathrobes For Women

Women’s bathrobes are more or less like a gown that is full sleeved and open at the front all the way down either to the thigh, to the knees or the ankle. The collar may be as in a Kimono, which is basically no collar but simply resembles a kimono, or a shawl collar, which is a wide collar that extends downwards across the chest and meets at the waist. The bathrobe is secured by overlapping one side over the other at the waist and tying it with a sash. Some bathrobes are hooded which makes it easy to wipe the head after a bath.

Fabrics most suited to make women’s bathrobes are cotton, silk, chenille microfiber, terry, velour, fleece and waffle. Terrycloth is derived from cotton and is the most favored fabric for bathrobes, because of its excellent absorbent quality. Velour bathrobes for women are made using velour on the outside and terrycloth on the inside. Velour is a knit, is stretchable and has a rich luxuriant feel and a light shimmer making it look similar to velvet. Waffle bathrobes are light and breezy and are excellent to wear during summer. Silk bathrobes for women are not very functional, but look very dressy because of the sophistication elegance, class and of the fabric. Fleece bathrobes made from polyester fibers keeps the body warm during winter. However, fleece has a few disadvantages because it attracts lint, dust, hair and the surface of the fabric gets bally. Bathrobes maybe monogrammed and embroidered and these can be given as birthday, Valentine’s day and as Christmas gifts too.
